Malta Holiday Offers

Overview

The fact that it is so small does not mean that Malta does not have plenty to offer. The plus point of cars driving on the left hand side makes it all the easier to get around and see for yourself all the reasons why you should pay it a visit.

Be careful which resort you choose though as beaches aren’t all than plentiful, but if there isn’t any sand for you to laze on then there’s usually the alternative of a lido with plenty of watersports on offer. If scuba diving or snorkelling are more up your street then you’ll love it here marine life is plentyfull and there are a number of ship wrecks left over from the war. English is widely spoken and the Maltese people love the British making it a great choice for families, even the younger clientel are drawn here by the sophisticated bars and discos of St Julians. People come to Malta all year round, although May to October has the best sunshine, but be warned in July and august temperatures can reach into the 100’s.

There’s a great choice of places to eat from upmarket restaurants to pavement cafes. Whichever you choose the cost of living is extremely low, just one more reason to put Malta high on your list of places to visit.

Eating Out

Eating out is very cheap in Malta, if you have young children with you don't worry the Maltese love children and give them a warm welcome, often offering free puddings for the kids. Rabbit is featured on many menus as is freshly caught swordfish, if you are lucky you may see the fisherman bringing in their catch, some will offer you the sword as a keep sake.

Places to Visit

Visit Popeye village and see the set where the Disney film was made first hand, or jump on a ferry and take a trip to Gozo a stunning contrast to Malta which is very arrid, dry and dusty. Gozo is lush, green and very beautiful and is like stepping back in time, see the elder generation sitting outside their doors making lace.

Important Information

6 months is needed from the return date on a 10 year British passport. Topless sunbathing is not accepted and in many shops men will be asked to cover their shoulders.

There's so much to do...if you're a beach person, scuba diving, jet skiing, if you come from a history background there's churches...
