How Many Holiday Romances Actually Last?

We've all been there - a glorious holiday in the sun, plenty of drinks and dancing.... nights out on the town, glorious days on the beach... it's inevitable just how many holiday romances occur! The combination of being in a carefree environment with fun on your mind - and no everyday chores or work to bring a person back to earth - puts many people in the mood for love!

Of course during the holiday, everything is fine and wonderful - however the problems starts when you return home. After all, the reality is that your holiday crush may not really have a place in your 'real life'. There's the question firstly of distance -if you met your holiday romance abroad, it may be very difficult to see each other again. Also, if you do meet up on 'home turf', you may find that they really don't fit in that well after all - and that the spark you shared was somewhat prompted by cocktails and tropical weather!

Some would of course say that this is a cynical view, however - and certainly some holiday romances do last beyond the initial break. There have been couples who actually find their soulmate on holiday and find ways to keep it going... you may even have met one or two lucky pairs with exactly this story! So if you feel you have met someone truly special, don't give up heart! The first stage is to work out if and how you can see each other again - and then take it from there, slowly and with care. Remember too, if the worst comes to the worst and there's no mileage in your relationship, you can enjoy the memories of a beautiful holiday romance!
