Brits Favourite Holiday Cocktails

Everyone loves a good cocktail - especially when they're on holiday! There's
something about the beaches, hot weather and relaxed nights out that
inspires something a little more special to drink than the usual pints of
lager and glasses of wine!
Holidays are also the perfect time to try out something new, which is why
most holiday resort bars will have a long list of fancy and exotic cocktails
to enjoy! Sometimes it's hard to know which one to choose, so have a read of
the ingredients included - or ask the barman - chances are he'll be happy to
recommend one that suits your tastes.
One ever popular holiday drink is sangria - a cocktail of wine, fruit juice
and fruit chunks served with lots of ice. Those who love champagne will love
a bellini - a simple combination of champers and peach juice. Creamy
cocktails include Pina Coladas - with coconut, rum and pineapple - and white
russians which include vodka and Kahlula cream. A simple and sharp cocktail
is the classic Screwdriver - vodka and fresh chilled orange juice, or try a
Tequila Sunrise - Tequila, orange juice and grenadine served with lemon and
a cherry on top!
These are just some ideas and it's great to try something new! As a rule, if
you like light and fresh drinks, choose those with fresh juices and spirits
- simple combinations such as a Harvey Wallbanger or Long Island Iced Tea.
Whiskey Sours, Daiquiris and Rob Roys are perfect if you like a short and
strong spirits-based cocktail, or look for creamy cocktails featuring cream,
Baileys, Kahlula and other sweet spirits if you like something very
dessert-like! And of course there's the classic Bloody Mary for the morning
after!
