Going Self Catering? Recipes for a Two Ring Cooker

Going Self Catering? Recipes for a Two Ring CookerAs the old adage goes, less is more, so keep it simple when cooking with a two ring cooker. Self catering needn't mean self-denying when it comes to mealtimes. No need to forego luscious lunches or scrumptious suppers with just a two ringer at your mercy. With a little planning and a trip to the local shop or onsite supermarket, there are easy recipes solutions that allow you to create meals in minutes.

For a quick breakfast that is easy to prepare, omelettes are ideal. Fry some bacon to go with your omelette for a sizzling start to your day. Dress up the omelette into super Spanish Tortilla, adding parboiled potatoes and soft fried onions to the whisked egg mixture. Delicious, served with a side salad. For other simple but equally tasty alternatives try pasta dishes. Whatever pasta in whatever shape you desire just boil and add the sauce and pre-prepared vegetables for a tasty treat, accompanied with salad and a glass of vino!

For scrumptious suppers try a simple stir-fry. Fry the meat or fish of your choice in the frying pan and add chopped up vegetables with a base stock. In the saucepan, boil some water and add the noodles. A nutritious dish in no time at all. If it's simpler fayre that takes your fancy, why not heat some seasonal soup, not forgetting some crusty bread as a perfect finishing touch. If you have some sausages, slice and fry in olive oil with crushed garlic and some chopped parsley and serve at once for another winning combination.

With just a two ringer at your disposal, you don't have to live by just bread alone. A little imagination goes a long way, plus less fuss means less mess. Happy cooking!

Try this
Slice some potatoes
Slice some onions
Slice up a few rashers of bacon
Add a tin of hot dog sausages (chop them up)
Fry the whole lot together
Add some ketchup
Not healthy but very tasty
